Actavis expects to have Phentermine 37.5mg tablets available by mid-July. We have not yet been informed as to when they will begin production on any of their Phentermine capsules or Phendimetrazine 35mg tablets. We have a large supply of Phentermine products by KVK-Tech and do not anticipate any product shortages.

Due to issues with the raw materials used to manufacture Thyroid tablets, we have been informed that there will be a delay in the production of Thyroid until September 2008. We are currently out of stock on the Thyroid 2 grain tablets, and have a limited supply of Thyroid 1/2 grain, Thyroid 1 grain, and Thyroid 3 grain tablets. We will keep our customers advised as soon as we receive more information regarding these issues.

Actavis has announced a recall on their Phentermine 30mg yellow capsules. The recall was due to out-of-specification assay results at different product stability time-points. This recall does not pose any health concerns for your patients. If you have already dispensed this medication to your patients, you do not need to contact them or have them return this medication. Your patients should continue to take the medication already in their possession. If you purchased the product from us and still have some inventory in stock, please contact me to discuss arrangements to return this product. There will be a temporary delay in the production of all Phentermine capsules by Actavis.

Two months ago another manufacturer, KVK-Tech, released the same product line of Phentermine as Actavis. Their Phentermine 15mg, 30mg, and 37.5mg were manufactured to look identical to the Actavis brand. We have toured the KVK-Tech facility and we are very comfortable that they can continue to meet the needs of our Phentermine customers. We have a large supply of the KVK-Tech brand of Phentermine currently in stock.

We will keep our customers advised on the Actavis production situation as information becomes available.

Actavis is now producing Phendimetrazine 35mg Yellow tablets.  This product is very similar in appearance to the Sandoz brand tablet.

A new manufacturer, KVK-Tech, Inc., will be producing the following products:

• Phentermine 15mg gray/yellow capsules
• Phentermine 30mg yellow/yellow capsules
• Phentermine 30mg blue/clear capsules
• Phentermine 37.5mg light blue/white capsules
• Phentermine 37.5mg white/blue speckled tablets

They expect to have these products available by the end of April. They also plan on producing Diethylpropion 25mg and 75mg tablets in the near future.

Actavis expects to begin shipping their Phendimetrazine 35mg yellow tablets by the end of April. We will keep our customers advised on these products as information becomes available.

Phendimetrazine Update: Actavis expects to begin limited production of Phendimetrazine 35mg yellow tablets during the month of March. Their tablet will look very similar to the Sandoz Phendimetrazine 35mg tablet. There will be a temporary shortage of the Phendimetrazine 35mg yellow tablets by Mikart. They do not expect to ship this product to distributors until the end of March. At this time, we are uncertain as to the production status of the Phendimetrazine blue or white 35mg tablets by Mikart.

With the price increase now in effect from Sandoz, the Bontril brand Phendimetrazine 105mg green/yellow capsule is now cheaper than the Sandoz generic Phendimetazine 105mg brown/white capsule. We will keep our customers advised regarding the production situation.

At the request of our customers, we now have Magnesium Gluconate 600mg tablets available in bulk containers of 5000.

Sandoz has announced a significant price increase on their Phendimetrazine 35mg Yellow Tablets and Phendimetrazine 105mg Brown/Clear Capsules. Unfortunately, distributors were not offered a “buy-in,” so we only have a limited supply in stock at the old price. Mikart has also announced a small price increase on their Phendimetrazine products. Within the next couple of months, we expect another manufacturer to release a Phendimetrazine 35mg Yellow Tablet that will look very similar to the Sandoz (Eon) brand. Increased competition among manufacturers usually results in the lowering of prices. We will keep our customers advised regarding the pricing situation.

Happy New Year! In addition to the new colors of Phentermine 30mg capsules currently being manufactured by Lannett Company, there will also be another manufacturer of Phendimetrazine 35mg tablets within the next few months. The manufacturers of the “brand items” Didrex, Meridia & Xenical have all announced price increases for 2008. Our February 2008 product flier will be mailed the week of January 21st, which will reflect the new prices.

Lannett Company Inc. is currently manufacturing Phentermine 30mg black capsules. Lannett is also manufacturing Phentermine 30mg blue/white capsules and Phentermine 30mg yellow capsules. All of these products are powder-filled and are available for immediate shipment.

We are extending our product specials from our November flier until the end of December. Please contact us if you did not receive this flier at the beginning of November.

During the Holidays, UPS and other carriers are generally overwhelmed with the daily volume of packages to be delivered. We suggest ordering a few days earlier to allow for a slight delay in the delivery of your order.

Watson Laboratories is currently allocating shipments of Diethylpropion 25mg & 75mg tablets to distributors. This may result in a temporary shortage and price increase on this product. Phentermine 37.5mg tablets and Benzphetamine Hydrochloride (generic Didrex) 50mg tablets have both come down slightly in price. The new prices for these products are reflected in our November product flier.

Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories is now producing Phentermine 37.5mg white/blue speckled tablets. This increase in competition among the manufacturers should result in a slight price decrease in the near future. Although Actavis is currently the only manufacturer producing a Phentermine 37.5mg capsule, there may be a price reduction on this product as well.
